Electrical Engineering

Success in the design of modern advanced technology buildings requires a collaborative effort by all stakeholders involved in the process. As buildings become more technologically advanced and performance standards increase, integration across disciplines is more important than ever.

At MW, our electrical engineers play a critical role in ensuring that the integration and support of all systems consider all stakeholders’ needs. This is achieved by working diligently throughout the design process to identify needs, develop options, create relevant alternatives, and suggest resolutions based on the specific project requirements and informed by extensive experience across a broad range of project types.

Through heavy involvement and coordination from the beginning of the project through to end-user training, MW Engineers maximizes the benefit of its consultant services for the Owner and all other stakeholders. MW Engineers seeks to simplify the process of delivering the best electrical systems at the most reasonable cost, and we do this by providing knowledgeable assistance in determining goals and evaluating the viability of options while working in parallel to review current technologies, evaluate maintenance capability, compare cost estimates, and participate in value engineering processes.

Technology and Telecommunications

MW Consulting Engineers strives to maintain leadership in “low voltage” consulting by maintaining, in-house, a highly trained and experienced staff of Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD), who have demonstrated their knowledge in the design, implementation, integration, and project management of telecommunications and data communications technology and related infrastructure, as well as registered electrical engineers with specific capability for design, specification, and integration of these specialized systems.

Close coordination between the project designers (creating the communications systems), the project electrical engineers (creating the lighting and power distribution systems), and the project mechanical engineers (creating the HVAC and plumbing systems), significantly reduces interfacing issues and assures the application of a consistent design philosophy across all of the technical disciplines. This coordination of design and philosophy leads to mutually supportive integration of the various systems and is the key to creating reliable, efficient, flexible, and cost-effective projects.
